Explore Rome’s iconic Colosseum\, an ancient  venue for gladiator combatants. The UNESCO World Heritage Sites of St. Peter’s Square and the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican will impress. Find out why the restoration in the Chapel was controversial. \nFrom Rome\, we journey to the Boot of Italy where fascinating towns like ALBEROBELLO display 14th century Trulli whitewashed houses with conical roofs and MATERA\, its cave dwellings. The stunning AMALFI COAST offers colourful terraced houses that seem to cascade into the shimmering sea. Admire the Isle of Capri Gardens of Augustus\, a series of panoramic flower-decked terraces overlooking the famous Faraglioni Rocks. \nIn Sicily\, the TAORMINA Film Festival is held annually at the 2\,300 year old Greek Theatre with Mt. Etna as the perfect backdrop. We’ll also tour The Valley of the Temples in AGRIGENTO\, a premier UNESCO Site which features well-preserved remains of seven 5th century BC Greek temples. \nOur final destination is PALERMO. Here\, we visit a unique blend of architectural styles of its cathedral and the Palace of the Normans where glittering 12th century mosaics will take your breath away.

She is the Founder of Make it Accessible (MIA) with over 10 years of experience implementing accessibility related legislation in Ontario and has trained over 15\,000 provincial employees on creating documents accessible to all. \nShe previously served as Accessibility and Inclusion Lead for the Treasury Board Secretariat within the Ontario Public Service (OPS)\, Ontario Provincial Government. \nBorn in Buenos Aires\, Argentina\, Lidia held diverse roles including IT Developer\, Business Analyst\, IT Auditor\, and IT Coordinator for the Secretary of Environment. She also worked as an IT Trainer for Microsoft Office applications for over twenty years and as an IT Consultant for Citicorp Latin America. \nWithin the OPS\, Lidia contributed as Contract and Services Coordinator for the former Ministry of Government Services in the Supply Chain Ontario Division\, and as Emergency Management Lead for Ontario Shared Services.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for an afternoon with author Patti Murphy as she launches her latest book\, Deep Fried Evil.\n\n\nPatti Murphy is the author of the Stafford Falls series\, and her newest release\, Deep Fried Evil is an urban fantasy set in an Ottawa diner where supernatural threats are handled alongside the lunch rush. Patti Murphy writes character-driven fiction about complicated women making questionable decisions under pressure — often with magic involved. \nHer work has been described as emotionally sharp\, darkly funny\, and deeply invested in the consequences of love\, loyalty\, and the choices made in their name. \nShe spends most of her time making things up\, and occasionally leaves her desk to talk about how stories work. \nAlong with being a published author\, Patti delivers workshops for writers and will be the guest workshop presenter at The Wasaga Beach Public Library’s Woven Word Symposium on Sunday May 31st.
