DESCRIPTION:Homeschool families are invited to join us at the library for a live virtual event.\n\n\nWBPL is excited to host a live virtual presentation with Canadian Space Agency Astronaut Joshua Kutryk. \nJoshua Kutryk will be the next Canadian to live and work on the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the Starliner-1 mission. He will join us virtually to share his experiences and insights on space exploration. \nThis presentation is best suited for students in Grades 6–9\, but families and children of all ages are welcome to attend. \nRegistration required.

Wasaga Beach Public Library card is NOT required for registration. \nWasaga Beach Public Library is excited to welcome the Cybergnomes!Come explore their latest project and learn more about the team behind it. \nAbout the CybergnomesThe Cybergnomes are a local high school robotics team that’s part of FIRST Robotics\, a global network of more than 780\,000 students worldwide. We’re fortunate to have a team right here in Simcoe County! \nStudents in Grades 7–12 from Collingwood\, Stayner\, Barrie\, Wasaga Beach\, and beyond can join the Cybergnomes to gain hands-on experience in areas like electrical wiring\, coding\, welding\, critical thinking\, and other STEAM (Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, Arts\, and Mathematics) skills. Each season\, the team designs and builds large-scale robots to compete in exciting challenges—sometimes even advancing to the FIRST Robotics World Championship!
