SUMMARY:Home Horizon Youth Outreach
DESCRIPTION:Our Your S.A.F.E. outreach program works with additional vulnerable youth to identify safe living spaces and provides direction to assist them in regaining control of their lives. Our S.A.F.E. outreach programs serve youth aged 16-29. Since the launch of this program in July 2020\,we have served 127 youth\, with over 1085 service interactions (referrals\, goalsetting\, supplies\, workshops\, etc.)\, many in the Wasaga Beach area. \nThrough our outreach services\, we supply important items such as tents\, sleeping bags\, food\, hygiene products\, grocery gift cards\, masks & sanitizers\, jackets\, hand warmers\, clothes\, and much more. \nThe program also provides support and advocacy for mental health\, physical health (new family doctor)\, legal matters\, financial aid\, rental/tenant advocacy as well as referrals to other housing agencies. \nThe program has been an incredible success to date. It helps one of our most vulnerable populations to avoid falling through the cracks\, providing every individual who come in contact with our outreach worker the chance to feel safe and heard. We work with all marginalized youth regardless of their race\, gender\, sexual orientation\, family situations and socio-economic background. \nOur programs are designed to assist youth struggling with social inequalities with tools that will help them to cope and grow stronger to manage and address any bias they face in life.

SUMMARY:Home Horizon Youth Outreach
DESCRIPTION:Our Your S.A.F.E. outreach program works with additional vulnerable youth to identify safe living spaces and provides direction to assist them in regaining control of their lives. Our S.A.F.E. outreach programs serve youth aged 16-29. Since the launch of this program in July 2020\,we have served 127 youth\, with over 1085 service interactions (referrals\, goalsetting\, supplies\, workshops\, etc.)\, many in the Wasaga Beach area. \nThrough our outreach services\, we supply important items such as tents\, sleeping bags\, food\, hygiene products\, grocery gift cards\, masks & sanitizers\, jackets\, hand warmers\, clothes\, and much more. \nThe program also provides support and advocacy for mental health\, physical health (new family doctor)\, legal matters\, financial aid\, rental/tenant advocacy as well as referrals to other housing agencies. \nThe program has been an incredible success to date. It helps one of our most vulnerable populations to avoid falling through the cracks\, providing every individual who come in contact with our outreach worker the chance to feel safe and heard. We work with all marginalized youth regardless of their race\, gender\, sexual orientation\, family situations and socio-economic background. \nOur programs are designed to assist youth struggling with social inequalities with tools that will help them to cope and grow stronger to manage and address any bias they face in life.

DESCRIPTION:This program is offered in partnership with La Cle in a hybrid format: participants may continue to participate remotely by Zoom\, if preferred\, or join the group in person at the library. \nPlease be aware that this program is offered entirely in the French language as conversational practice for adults 19 years+ who already know French. This is not a beginner instructional language class and is for intermediate to advanced learners wanting to practice their conversational French. \nRegister once by email with La Cle at: formation@lacle.ca and drop in by Zoom each week or in-person to Wasaga Beach Public Library – Group Study Room. A La Cle facilitator will send weekly reminder emails and the Zoom link. DESCRIPTION:Embark on a visual journey as we step back in time with a visit to the historical capital city: Athens\, Greece\n\n\n🎟️ Registration requires a WBPL membership card.  \nAthens is the Capital City\, Symbol of Democracy and Birthplace of Modern Olympics. It’s easy to be impressed with the world-famous landmark of the Acropolis and Parthenon after visiting the New Acropolis Museum to see the 2\,500 year old treasures preserved from Ancient Greece. Not to be missed is the hourly “Changing of the Guards” Ceremony with the Elite Presidential Guards. \nA unique experience will be our visit to Meteora\, a UNESCO site\, where a group of Monasteries are perched on summits of almost inaccessible vertical rock formations. We’ll take a ferry to Hydra\, a nearby island\, where mules replace motorized vehicles. Cape Sounion will be magical as we see the Temple of Poseidon at sunset. This journey will bring history to life.
