DESCRIPTION:Dive Into Discovery: Learn about Brook Trout and Explore Freshwater Habitats!\n\n\nAges: 6-14 \nJoin WBPL for an introduction to the Fish in the Library program.  Together\, as a community\, we have the opportunity to raise brook trout\, with the eventual goal of releasing them into nearby waterbodies.  During the Intro to Fresh Water Habitat\, children will learn about their local aquatic ecosystems and foster environmental stewardship through active inquiry and hands on scientific observation.

DESCRIPTION:This program is offered in partnership with La Cle in a hybrid format: participants may continue to participate remotely by Zoom\, if preferred\, or join the group in person at the library. \nPlease be aware that this program is offered entirely in the French language as conversational practice for adults 19 years+ who already know French. This is not a beginner instructional language class and is for intermediate to advanced learners wanting to practice their conversational French. \nRegister once by email with La Cle at: formation@lacle.ca and drop in by Zoom each week or in-person to Wasaga Beach Public Library – Group Study Room. A La Cle facilitator will send weekly reminder emails and the Zoom link. Free to participate.  \nLibrary membership is required for in-person participation. \n\nCe programme est offert en partenariat avec La Clé dans un format hybride : les participants peuvent participer à distance via Zoom ou en personne à la bibliothèque.\n\nVeuillez noter que ce programme est offert entièrement en français afin que les adultes de 19 ans et plus qui connaissent déjà le français puissent pratiquer et améliorer leur communication orale français. Ce n’est pas un cours de français pour débutants et il s’adresse aux apprenants de niveau intermédiaire et avancé.\n\nInscrivez-vous simplement en écrivant un courriel à La Clé : formation@lacle.ca et participez chaque semaine via Zoom ou en personne à la bibliothèque publique de Wasaga Beach – Salle d’étude de groupe. SUMMARY:Home Horizon Youth Outreach
DESCRIPTION:Our Your S.A.F.E. outreach program works with additional vulnerable youth to identify safe living spaces and provides direction to assist them in regaining control of their lives. Our S.A.F.E. outreach programs serve youth aged 16-29. Since the launch of this program in July 2020\,we have served 127 youth\, with over 1085 service interactions (referrals\, goalsetting\, supplies\, workshops\, etc.)\, many in the Wasaga Beach area. \nThrough our outreach services\, we supply important items such as tents\, sleeping bags\, food\, hygiene products\, grocery gift cards\, masks & sanitizers\, jackets\, hand warmers\, clothes\, and much more. \nThe program also provides support and advocacy for mental health\, physical health (new family doctor)\, legal matters\, financial aid\, rental/tenant advocacy as well as referrals to other housing agencies. \nThe program has been an incredible success to date. It helps one of our most vulnerable populations to avoid falling through the cracks\, providing every individual who come in contact with our outreach worker the chance to feel safe and heard. We work with all marginalized youth regardless of their race\, gender\, sexual orientation\, family situations and socio-economic background. \nOur programs are designed to assist youth struggling with social inequalities with tools that will help them to cope and grow stronger to manage and address any bias they face in life.

SUMMARY:Overeaters Anonymous
DESCRIPTION:Weekly meetings for those recovering from compulsive overeating. \nOvereaters Anonymous(OA) is a Fellowship of individuals who\, through shared experience\, strength\, and hope\, are recovering from compulsive overeating.  We welcome everyone who wants to stop eating compulsively.  There are no dues or fees for members; we are self-supporting through our own contributions\, neither soliciting nor accepting outside donations. OA is not affiliated with any public or private organization\, political movement\, ideology or religious doctrine; we take no position on outside issues.  Our primary purpose is to abstain from compulsive eating and compulsive food behaviours and to carry the message of recovery through the Twelve Steps of OA to those who still suffer.\nOA gathers weekly on Wednesdays in the Group Study Room at the Wasaga Beach Public Library from 6:30-7:45 PM.
