SUMMARY:Home Horizon Youth Outreach
DESCRIPTION:Our Your S.A.F.E. outreach program works with additional vulnerable youth to identify safe living spaces and provides direction to assist them in regaining control of their lives. Our S.A.F.E. outreach programs serve youth aged 16-29. Since the launch of this program in July 2020\,we have served 127 youth\, with over 1085 service interactions (referrals\, goalsetting\, supplies\, workshops\, etc.)\, many in the Wasaga Beach area. \nThrough our outreach services\, we supply important items such as tents\, sleeping bags\, food\, hygiene products\, grocery gift cards\, masks & sanitizers\, jackets\, hand warmers\, clothes\, and much more. \nThe program also provides support and advocacy for mental health\, physical health (new family doctor)\, legal matters\, financial aid\, rental/tenant advocacy as well as referrals to other housing agencies. \nThe program has been an incredible success to date. It helps one of our most vulnerable populations to avoid falling through the cracks\, providing every individual who come in contact with our outreach worker the chance to feel safe and heard. We work with all marginalized youth regardless of their race\, gender\, sexual orientation\, family situations and socio-economic background. \nOur programs are designed to assist youth struggling with social inequalities with tools that will help them to cope and grow stronger to manage and address any bias they face in life.

DESCRIPTION:Weekly meetings for those recovering from compulsive overeating. \nOvereaters Anonymous(OA) is a Fellowship of individuals who\, through shared experience\, strength\, and hope\, are recovering from compulsive overeating.  We welcome everyone who wants to stop eating compulsively.  There are no dues or fees for members; we are self-supporting through our own contributions\, neither soliciting nor accepting outside donations. OA is not affiliated with any public or private organization\, political movement\, ideology or religious doctrine; we take no position on outside issues.  Our primary purpose is to abstain from compulsive eating and compulsive food behaviours and to carry the message of recovery through the Twelve Steps of OA to those who still suffer.\nOA gathers weekly on Wednesdays in the Group Study Room at the Wasaga Beach Public Library from 6:30-7:45 PM.

DESCRIPTION:Immerse yourself in the Latin culture! Learn to Salsa!\n\n\nThis beginner-friendly introductory class is welcoming for everyone. The first hour will include guided instruction\, and anyone who would like to stay until 8:00 PM is welcome to practice in a casual\, social setting with music. \nNo dance partner or prior experience is needed. \nWhat to Wear \n\nClothing: Comfortable\, breathable clothes that allow free movement (workout attire is not required).\nShoes: Sneakers are perfect. Salsa shoes are welcome if you have them\, but not required. (Please no flip-flops.)\n\nWhat to Bring \nA water bottle \nAbout the Facilitator \nClarissa of Latin Soul Dance Simcoe is new to the community and originally from Brazil. She grew up surrounded by Latin rhythms and has been teaching dance for the past seven years\, primarily in the Kitchener–Waterloo region. \nHer specialties include Salsa (Cuban and Mambo)\, Bachata\, and Brazilian styles such as Samba\, Funk\, Forró\, and Zouk. DESCRIPTION:Join us as we come together for a day of community storytelling as we celebrate local history and memories of Wasaga Beach\n\n\nThe Wasaga Beach Public Library is proud to bring the community together for the showcase and wrap-up of its 2025/26 project\, Bridging Generations: Preserving Memories\, Building Connections\, funded by the Ontario Government’s Seniors Community Grant. \nThis free public event invites all ages to step back in time and experience a celebration of Wasaga Beach history through a curated gallery\, artifacts\, interactive exhibits\, displays\, and daylong memory sharing. \nOn Sunday\, March 15\, the Library will be transformed into a walk-through historical experience\, featuring a Pop-Up Museum Day\, open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. \nHighlights include:\n\nHands-on stations and activities for children (available all day)\nAll-ages storytelling stations with live historians and memory champions (11:00 AM – 12:30 PM)\n1:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Open Mic Sharing: Stories and Memories of Wasaga BeachA live community storytelling event. Sparked by a memory? Guests are welcome to share a story or two\, if they wish. Registration recommended.\nAnd more throughout the day\n\nRegistration is not required for self-directed Pop-Up Museum visits. \nA limited supply of the 50th Anniversary Edition of Wasaga Saga by Thelma Morrison will also be available at the Library’s Main Circulation Desk.
