Family Genealogy: Research Organizational Tips

April 28 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Conquer the chaos! Learn practical strategies to bring structure and clarity to your family history research.

📅 Ages: Adults
📌 Wasaga Beach Public Library card required for registration.

Has your family history research spiraled out of control? Are you finding materials scattered throughout your home? Or perhaps you’re new to genealogy and searching for ways to organize the information you’ve uncovered. If so, this presentation is for you!

Join us as we explore practical strategies to bring order to your genealogy project. Topics will include how to begin (or start over), essential organization basics, using research checklists, creating a plan, logging your discoveries, tracking sources, and choosing between paper and digital systems. We’ll also discuss ways to future-proof your project. While there’s no single ‘right’ way to organize your research, this session aims to provide inspiration and tools to help you determine your next steps.

About the Presenter:
Nancy Leveque has been passionate about family history since her early teens. Since 2006, she has served as the Newsletter Editor for the Simcoe County Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society, combining her love of history and writing. In 2012, she published Researching Your Ancestors in Simcoe County: A Study in Migratory Patterns and Family History, a resource she wishes had been available when she began her research in the 1990s. Today, Nancy continues to share her knowledge by writing articles, giving presentations to local groups, and assisting others with their family history projects.
