WBPL is excited to present this digital gallery showcasing the incredible projects that have flourished through the “Artsy Adults Project” over the past few months. Funded by the Ontario Government and supported by a 2024/2025 Seniors Community Grant, this series of artistic workshops was specifically crafted to engage Wasaga Beach’s older adult community.
Throughout the artistic series, participants have had the chance to connect, create, and collaborate with ten regional artists. Over the course of 16 workshops, a range of artistic mediums were explored, including wire sculpture, acrylic painting, soapstone carving, wet felting, coloured pencil drawing, Japanese ink, wood carving, abstract collage, glass mosaic, and epoxy resin.
Running monthly from September 2024 to March 2025, these workshops have fostered creativity, conversation, and community connection. We invite you to take a moment to appreciate and be inspired by the incredible talents of our participants.
The digital 3D scans were developed in collaboration with the South Georgian Bay Media Association as part of their Virtual Augmented Media Arts research project, which explores best practices for bringing the arts into virtual spaces. Learn more at www.sgbma.ca.
