Hug-a-Tree and Survive

Hug-A-Tree and Survive is an engaging safety program developed by AdventureSmart that teaches children essential outdoor survival skills. Through interactive discussion and activities, participants will learn how to avoid becoming lost in the woods and what to do if they ever find themselves separated from their group. The program emphasizes the importance of staying calm and “hugging a tree” to remain safe, sheltered, and easier to locate. This empowering session helps build confidence, awareness, and practical safety knowledge for young explorers both in the community and beyond.
Meet at the library entrance at 10:30am, program will take place at an outdoor area on the property.
Dress to be outdoors! Bring a water bottle!
Parents to remain with children for the duration of the program.
