📌 Adults
💳 Wasaga Beach Public Library card required for registration.
Learn about “junk journals” made from re-purposed, collected, found items and/or leftover crafting supplies. The journal’s purpose is totally up to you but possibilities include: for daily journalling, habit tracking, memory keeping, vision boarding, inspiration or artistic reflection.
In this one-session class, create a simple “one signature” journal using a simple hand-sewn book binding method and by using a combination of various upcycled papers and envelopes for the pages.
Learn some junk journalling terms such as: altered books; ephemera; pop-outs/fold outs/flips; pockets/tuck spots; belly bands; washi tape; fussy cutting and distressing.
Start to build some pages in your journal by incorporating some of the elements discussed.
Supplies will be provided but you may wish to bring some items to reuse in your journal such as junk mail envelopes with clear windows, brown Amazon package paper; ticket stubs; pressed flowers; postcards, photos, brochures you may have collected, magazine cutouts of a particular theme, inspirational sayings, paper doilies, old seed packages, hand written recipe cards, hand-written keepsakes etc.
