Literacy Workshop: It Begins With a Word

March 12 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

You don’t have to be a teacher to teach literacy.

📅 Ages: Adults
📌 Wasaga Beach Public Library card required for registration.

Join veteran educator and multi-published author Arlene F. Marks as she walks you through some of the many (sneaky) ways to empower youngsters through reading and writing. There is a hands-on component, so bring writing tools and be prepared to have fun. This workshop is appropriate for parents, grandparents, teachers, and caregivers of children of all ages.

About the facilitator: Arlene F. Marks has more than 20 years of classroom teaching experience and is the author of one literacy program (for grades 9 through 12) and co-author of another (for grades 4 through 8). She has also delivered writing workshops at numerous literary conferences and has led in-service literacy-teaching seminars for other educators. Since retiring from the classroom, Arlene has written and published more than a dozen novels. To find out more, visit her website: www.thewritersnest.ca

Arlene’s fiction novels and non-fiction resources will be available for purchase at the event.
