Shirley Sutton is a local textile artist passionate about reducing textile waste and inspiring others to discover the joy of working with fabric in all its forms.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create a beautiful and functional piece of felt art with a sewn-on wool backing. Begin by designing your own pattern using vibrant unspun wool roving. Then, bring it to life through the wet felting process—using soap, water, and plenty of rubbing, rolling, and even a little throwing—until the fibres fuse into a single, sturdy piece.
It’s creative, eco-friendly fun—and you’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind textile treasure to take home.
