Travel Series: Athens, Greece

May 7 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Embark on a visual journey as we step back in time with a visit to the historical capital city: Athens, Greece

🎟️ Registration requires a WBPL membership card.

Athens is the Capital City, Symbol of Democracy and Birthplace of Modern Olympics. It’s easy to be impressed with the world-famous landmark of the Acropolis and Parthenon after visiting the New Acropolis Museum to see the 2,500 year old treasures preserved from Ancient Greece. Not to be missed is the hourly “Changing of the Guards” Ceremony with the Elite Presidential Guards.

A unique experience will be our visit to Meteora, a UNESCO site, where a group of Monasteries are perched on summits of almost inaccessible vertical rock formations. We’ll take a ferry to Hydra, a nearby island, where mules replace motorized vehicles. Cape Sounion will be magical as we see the Temple of Poseidon at sunset. This journey will bring history to life.
