A Year of Growth and Change

The most significant milestone of 2024 was our move to the brand-new Wasaga Beach Public Library facility, housed within the Town’s multi-use complex at 544 River Road West. With nearly four times the space of our previous location, this new library has allowed us to introduce expanded services, create inviting community spaces, and welcome more visitors than ever before.

Since the grand opening in January, we’ve seen an 83.1% increase in visitors, with over 111,000 people walking through our doors! Circulation has also surged by 33.8%, reflecting a growing demand for books, digital materials, and other lending services.

Engaging Programs for All Ages

WBPL’s Adult and Senior Programs flourished in 2024, with a 28% increase in offerings and a 126% jump in participation. From our Woven Word Symposium to engaging concerts funded by the Ontario Seniors Community Grant, we’ve expanded learning and social opportunities for our patrons.

Meanwhile, Family Services & Programs had a record-breaking year, with a 52.9% boost in engagement and standout events like the March Break ‘Zoo to You’ experience, the TD Summer Reading Club (which saw a 291% increase in participation!), and the Holly Jolly Holiday Event.

Expanding Access Through Technology & Outreach

WBPL made major strides in digital engagement, with more patrons than ever using our library app (+140.4%) and borrowing from our digital collections (+41.8%). Social media engagement also skyrocketed, helping us connect with a broader audience online.

Additionally, our Bookmobile continued to reach underserved areas, making books and library services more accessible to residents across Wasaga Beach.

Looking Ahead

We’re incredibly proud of all we’ve accomplished in 2024, and we couldn’t have done it without our dedicated staff, volunteers, and community partners. As we move into 2025, we remain committed to enhancing library services, expanding outreach, and fostering lifelong learning for all.
