Woven Word Symposium: A Celebration of Storytelling and Writing

The Wasaga Beach Public Library invites the community to take part in the Woven Word Symposium, a day dedicated to storytelling, creativity, and the written word.

Taking place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, this engaging event brings together writers, readers, and creative minds for a series of sessions designed to inspire and develop storytelling skills in a welcoming, community-focused environment.

Explore the Art of Storytelling

The day begins with Crafting a Scene: Turning Moments into Story, a session focused on transforming everyday moments into compelling narratives. Whether you’re new to writing or looking to refine your skills, this workshop offers practical insights into building vivid, engaging scenes.

In the afternoon, Dialogue & Interior Life: Revealing Character on the Page dives deeper into character development—exploring how dialogue and inner voice can bring stories to life and create meaningful connections with readers.

Both sessions are designed to be accessible and engaging for writers of all levels, offering a chance to learn, reflect, and grow in a supportive setting.

Reader’s Marketplace

In between sessions, visitors can browse the Reader’s Marketplace, a drop-in book sale running from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. This is an opportunity to discover new reads, connect with local literary culture, and support the ongoing celebration of books and storytelling in the community.
