CloudLibrary eReader Users: Adobe ID is Changing to ByteBooks ID

If you use CloudLibrary to transfer eBooks to a Kobo eReader (or another compatible eReader) using Adobe Digital Editions (ADE), there is an important update to the sign-in process.

Beginning June 23, 2026, Adobe has transitioned its eBook authentication service to ByteBooks.

Do I need to do anything?

If your eReader and Adobe Digital Editions are already working, no action is required until you’re prompted to sign in or re-authorize Adobe Digital Editions.

When that happens, you’ll need to sign in using a ByteBooks ID instead of an Adobe ID.

I already have an Adobe ID

When you’re prompted to sign in:

  1. Visit https://dtsbytebooks.com/register
  2. Register using the same email address associated with your Adobe ID.
  3. If prompted, select the option indicating you already have an existing Adobe account so your account can be migrated.
  4. Create a new password (ByteBooks passwords require a symbol).
  5. Sign into Adobe Digital Editions using your new ByteBooks ID.

Your existing eBook licences should transfer automatically, although some titles may need to be downloaded again.

I’m a new Adobe Digital Editions user

If you’re setting up Adobe Digital Editions for the first time, simply create a new ByteBooks ID at:

https://dtsbytebooks.com/register

Then use those credentials when Adobe Digital Editions asks you to authorize your computer.
