Simcoe Author Talk: David A. Robertson

The online Simcoe Author Talks are brought to you in collaboration with participating libraries across Simcoe County.

Join hosting library Midland Public Library in conversation with award-winning author David A. Robertson about his literary work, his writing career, and his upcoming projects.

Robertson’s most recent works include:

  • The Theory of Crows: A poignant and evocative novel about the bonds of family and the gifts offered by the land. A troubled father and his estranged teenage daughter head out onto the land in search of the family trapline, they find their way back to themselves, and to each other
  • The Barren Grounds: part of a middle grade fantasy series where Narnia meets traditional Indigenous stories of the sky and constellations.

About the author: DAVID A. ROBERTSON is a two-time winner of the Governor General’s Literary Award, has won the TD Canadian Children’s Literature Award, as well as the Writer’s Union of Canada Freedom to Read award. He has received several other accolades for his work as a writer for children and adults, podcaster, public speaker, and social advocate with over 25 books across a variety of genres. He was honoured with a Doctor of Letters by the University of Manitoba for outstanding contributions in the arts and distinguished achievements in 2023. He is a member of Norway House Cree Nation and lives in Winnipeg.
