Many steps were taken in the planning and design of the new library, with a designated final footprint of 17,000 square feet to include the following program features:
- A children’s program room;
- Study / small meeting rooms;
- A group study / boardroom;
- A digital lab where the community can access technologies like a 3D printer;
- A learning lab where the community can build, create and develop new skills;
- Adult, youth and children’s zones where people can gather, socialize, and enjoy the collection;
Construction of the new library began in 2021, coinciding with a fundraising campaign to raise funds for the new facility. The building was opened to the public on January 29, 2024.
