20 Aug Georgian Bay Reads is Back!
Georgian Bay Reads is back for another lively evening of books, debate, friendly rivalry and plenty of laughter!
On Saturday, October 24, 2026, defenders representing five local libraries will take the stage to champion a favourite Canadian book and convince the competition, and the audience, that their selection deserves to win.
Hosted this year by Springwater Township Public Library, the 2025 Georgian Bay Reads champion, the literary battle begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Elmvale Community Hall.

This year’s moderator is Brian Adduono, the reigning Georgian Bay Reads Champion from Springwater Township Public Library.
Let the Literary Battle Begin
Over four fast-paced rounds, each defender will make the case for their book, build alliances and do everything they can to keep their title from being voted off. Each round is time limited, so defenders will also have to beware the bell!
Expect spirited debate, clever arguments, good-natured heckling and plenty of amusing repartee along the way.
Audience members also get a say. During intermission, attendees can cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award and show some love for the book and defender who won them over.

Tickets are free, but space is limited and registration is required. Reserve your ticket through Georgian Bay Reads or your participating library. Be sure to grab yours early so you don’t miss one of the region’s most entertaining literary events of the year.
