The Wasaga Beach Public Library (WBPL) wishes to inform patrons of a potential disruption to our Interlibrary Loan (ILLO) services due to an impending Canada Post strike.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has issued a strike notice, indicating that postal workers may commence strike action as early as Friday, May 23, 2025, at 12:00 a.m. local time, if a new agreement is not reached before then. 

Since WBPL relies on Canada Post for the delivery and return of interlibrary loan materials, any postal service disruption would directly impact our ability to process ILLO requests. In the event of a strike, we may need to pause the acceptance of new ILLO requests and experience delays in fulfilling existing ones.

We understand the importance of interlibrary loans to our patrons and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as more information becomes available.
