The Wasaga Beach Public Library is pleased to welcome local artist Ron West for a new gallery exhibition, Fractured, on display from May 5 to June 30, 2026.
Based in Wasaga Beach, Ron West creates expressive acrylic paintings that explore landscapes, animals, and the human figure through an abstract and emotional lens. Rather than focusing on exact representation, Ron’s work captures feeling, movement, and atmosphere through bold colour, texture, and intuitive brushwork.
The exhibition features a collection of mostly abstract paintings showcasing Ron’s unique artistic style, including landscapes and animals inspired by the beauty of the local area. Many of the pieces reflect familiar scenes from the Wasaga Beach region, transformed through vibrant colour and expressive composition.
Living along the shores of Georgian Bay continues to inspire Ron’s creative process. The changing seasons, natural surroundings, and everyday moments found in the community all influence his work. By allowing spontaneity and emotion to guide the painting process, Ron creates artwork that invites viewers to experience a sense of warmth, energy, and joy.
“At the heart of Ron’s art is a desire to create work that uplifts people,” says the artist. “His paintings are meant to spark positive feelings and offer moments of reflection, happiness, and connection.”
Visitors are encouraged to stop by the gallery space during regular library hours to experience this colourful and engaging exhibition.
