Since September 2024, the Wasaga Beach Public Library has been buzzing with creativity thanks to our Artsy Adults program—an inspiring initiative made possible through funding from the Ontario Seniors Community Grant. We’re thrilled to celebrate the success of this program, which brought over 200 older adults together to explore new artistic mediums, build connections, and embrace the joy of lifelong learning.
From colourful wire sculpture, fibre art to expressive painting and whimsical mosaic creations, each workshop offered something unique. Under the expert guidance of regional artists, participants had the opportunity to express themselves, learn new techniques, and share meaningful moments with others in our community.
The Artsy Adults workshops were hosted in our state-of-the-art Learning Lab, a space designed to spark imagination and support hands-on learning. Thanks to the support of a dedicated seniors working group, our programming was responsive to community interests, ensuring each session resonated with participants and celebrated the spirit of artistic exploration.
We’re proud to share that the Artsy Adults project exceeded our goals in both participation and engagement. Not only did it provide a much-needed social and creative outlet during the quieter seasons, but it also underscored the importance of accessible arts programming for older adults in Wasaga Beach.

As part of our project legacy, we’re excited to launch the Artsy Adults Digital Gallery—a curated online space showcasing the incredible work created during the workshops. We invite you to explore the gallery and witness the creativity and talent that emerged through this enriching program.
Thank you to all the participants, artists, volunteers, and staff who helped bring the Artsy Adults project to life. Your passion and creativity have left a lasting impact on our community.
