Summer reading season is almost here, and the Wasaga Beach Public Library is excited to launch the 2026 TD Summer Reading Club with a summer full of books, rewards, programs, and family fun.

Beginning Friday, June 26, children and families can sign up for the TD Summer Reading Club and take part in our new “Dive In” reading challenge. Participants will track their reading throughout the summer, earn milestone rewards, and work toward exciting prize draws while discovering great books and library programs.

Summer Kick-Off Party

The fun begins with our free Summer Kick-Off Party on Friday, June 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Families can register for the TD Summer Reading Club, pick up their reading trackers and swag, and enjoy a variety of interactive activities with community partners including:

• Ontario Parks Discovery Team and their Waves of Change program
• YMCA water safety activities
• Georgian Bay Forever
• Oceans Canada interactive floor map

Crafts, games, and hands-on learning opportunities will be available throughout the event, making it the perfect way to launch a summer of reading and discovery.

The Dive In Reading Challenge

This year, readers will work their way through 10 reading milestones throughout the summer.

For every 20 minutes of reading, participants colour in a space on their tracker and swim toward their next reward. Complete all 10 milestones to earn a special prize and an entry into the Grand Prize draw. Everyone who signs up will also be entered into a bonus raffle draw.

Tracking booklets will be available at the library beginning June 26.

Programs All Summer Long

The TD Summer Reading Club is about more than books. Throughout July and August, the library will offer a variety of free programs, activities, workshops, and special events designed to keep children and families engaged all summer long.

From creative activities and hands-on learning experiences to special guests and family-friendly events, there is always something new to discover at the library.

Summer Wrap-Up Party

Celebrate a summer of reading at our Summer Wrap-Up Party on Friday, August 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Participants can enjoy games, crafts, snacks, prize draws, and a celebration of all the reading accomplishments achieved throughout the summer.

We look forward to welcoming readers of all ages as we dive into another exciting summer of stories, imagination, and discovery at the Wasaga Beach Public Library.
